Greenhouse Remote Monitoring and Control System

Follow your greenhouse’s climate and irrigation data over the internet, keep every measurement on record and adjust the settings remotely when needed. Your greenhouse stays under your control even when you are not there.

  • Remotecontrol over the internet
Why remote monitoring?

You shouldn’t have to be there to know how your greenhouse is doing

Climate and irrigation conditions in a greenhouse change constantly throughout the day. Automation responds to these changes for you; remote monitoring lets you see what the automation is doing, adjust the settings when needed and keep the whole history on record.

So you stay informed about your greenhouse at night, at weekends or while you are busy with something else.

  • Get your time back You don’t need to go to the greenhouse to check every value. Routine monitoring is done remotely, and your time on site goes to the real work.
  • Faster response When you see a value drifting from where it should be, you can respond quickly by changing set points remotely.
  • Several greenhouses from one place Because one climate control unit can manage 1 to 8 greenhouses, you can follow several greenhouses from the same place.
  • Data-driven decisions With recorded climate and irrigation data, your decisions are based on measurements rather than guesswork.

What can you monitor?

Climate and irrigation data at a glance

Remote access shows you the data measured and recorded by the climate control and irrigation-fertigation systems in your greenhouse. What you can see depends on the sensors and equipment installed.

Climate control data

  • Inside and outside temperature
  • Inside and outside relative humidity
  • Solar radiation
  • Wind speed, wind direction and rain
  • Carbon dioxide (CO2) level
  • Heating water temperature
  • Operating status of screens, roof vents, fans, fogging and heating

Irrigation and fertigation data

  • Irrigation groups and the active programme
  • EC and pH of the nutrient solution
  • Water and fertilizer used (meter data)
  • Drainage data
  • Live status of irrigation and dosing functions
  • Records of past irrigation activity
Sensors and measuring equipment in a greenhouse
01

The data comes from the field

Sensors and control units in the greenhouse record measurements continuously. Remote access brings this data to your phone and computer; what you can see depends on the sensors installed in your greenhouse.

How does it work?

From the field to you: remote control in three steps

Remote monitoring is not a separate device; it opens up your greenhouse’s climate control and irrigation-fertigation automation to you through a computer and internet connection.

  1. 01

    Measures and manages

Control units in the greenhouse manage climate and irrigation automatically using data from the sensors.

  2. 02

    Records

With a computer connection, all measurements and irrigation activity are recorded and can be followed in charts.

  3. 03

    Opens up to you

Over the internet, you monitor the system remotely, change set points and control its functions.

Recorded data

A greenhouse that keeps records is a greenhouse that improves

Data logging is at least as valuable as live control. The climate and irrigation records that build up each season are the most reliable source for planning the next one better.

Climate and irrigation data recorded from the greenhouse
  • Find the source of problems

When disease or a drop in yield appears, you can look at past temperature and humidity records to see under which conditions the problem started.

  • Compare seasons

Compare this year’s climate and irrigation data with last season to see which settings gave better results.

  • Track water and fertilizer use

Meter data shows how much water and fertilizer each group used, so you can improve the programme accordingly.

  • Fine-tune settings for the crop

Records help you find the best temperature, humidity and irrigation values for each growth stage of your crop.

Examples

How does remote monitoring help day to day?

Automation handles most situations by itself; remote monitoring lets you see what is happening too and make decisions when needed.

The temperature drops at night

Away from the greenhouse, you notice the inside temperature falling more than expected. You check the heating and screen settings and change the set points remotely if necessary.

Weekend irrigation

Without going to the greenhouse at the weekend, you check that the irrigation programmes are running and that EC and pH are on target.

Sudden sunshine

When the sun comes out after a cloudy morning, you follow the rise in inside temperature and update ventilation and shading settings as needed.

Infrastructure and security

For uninterrupted, secure remote access

Reliable remote monitoring depends on correctly planned infrastructure on site. We go through these points with you during design.

Let’s plan your infrastructure
  • A reliable internet connectionFor remote access to work continuously, a reliable internet connection must be planned on site.
  • Prepare for power cutsAn uninterruptible power supply (UPS) is recommended so that the control unit and communication equipment are not affected by outages.
  • Secure accessRemote access should be protected with strong passwords and shared only with authorised people.
  • User trainingPeople who change set points remotely should know the system well to avoid incorrect settings.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions about greenhouse remote monitoring

If your question is not answered here, call us and we will answer it for your project.

What is a greenhouse remote monitoring system?

It is the infrastructure that lets you see the data measured by the greenhouse climate control and irrigation and fertigation automation over the internet, review the records and adjust settings remotely.

Which data can I see remotely?

Depending on the sensors and equipment installed, you can follow data such as inside and outside temperature and humidity, solar radiation, wind, rain, CO2, heating water temperature, equipment status, irrigation programs, EC and pH values, and water and fertilizer consumption.

Can I change settings remotely?

Yes. The Dağdelen climate control and fertigation systems we use allow functions to be controlled remotely over an internet connection; you can adjust setpoints remotely.

Is an internet connection needed for remote monitoring?

Yes. Remote access requires a reliable internet connection at the greenhouse. We assess the on-site connection together during the site assessment and design.

What are the recorded data for?

With past climate and irrigation records you can examine under which conditions problems started, compare seasons, track water and fertilizer use and fine-tune setpoints for your crop.

Can I monitor more than one greenhouse?

Yes. According to the manufacturer, a single climate control unit can manage between 1 and 8 greenhouses. For larger facilities, several units are planned as needed.

Who installs and services the system?

As an authorized Dağdelen dealer, Agroteknik installs the system with its own team, sets up remote access and provides user training. After-sales support and service are provided.

What does the price depend on?

The price depends on the number of greenhouses, the scope of the climate and irrigation automation to be installed, the number of sensors and equipment and the infrastructure on site. A project-specific quote is prepared after the site assessment.
